My Solo trip to Goa post a knee injury..

I suffered a major knee injury in Dec 2019 and I was on a rehab for almost 6 months. I like dancing and of course you all know that I am a Zumba instructor, I like to travel - it keeps me humble and grounded, I love hiking as it satisfies my hunger for adventure. To a person such as me - not being able to get out of the bed and walk and do daily activities was a major setback. It felt like I may have to change my profession and passions because I may never be able to do all that again. However, in Feb 2020 when things started getting better, at-least I was walking pain free. I decided to go on a trip. Solo trip, and that’s when I picked Goa to be that place. I was advised not to strain myself, not walk more than 2km a day. Climbing stairs was still painful and I had no confidence that I will be able to ride a scooter. But still I decided to just go.

I had to take a bus from Bangalore and travel 12 hours in the bus to reach Panajim in Goa. The fun started the moment Sud left me at the bus stop. I stood at the entry of the bus and saw 3 big stairs that I had to take to get on the bus..πŸ˜… The driver and conductor were looking at me and waiting for me to come on board so that the people waiting behind can do the same. Then, I luckily saw a hand support and I pulled myself up the first one and then the conductor offered me help to take the next 2 stairs and come on board. I was embarrassed ofcouse and hence I kind of pointed him towards the bandage I had on my knee to justify that I am injured. But when I came to my seat, I burst laughing that this is just the beginning and I even thought may be it was a stupid decision to take this solo trip when I am still healing.πŸ™ˆ

Well the rest of the way the conductor was kind enough to keep the seat beside me vacant so that I can keep my knee up and sleep comfortably and also for the dinner stop and morning stop he made it a point that he was there to help me board the bus.. 😬

This was one of the best trips I have done so far β™₯️
